Olivia, Boston, Belle, the volunteers and I went shopping for the afternoon at a little Indian beach town called Mamhallpuram. We looked at all the Indian stores had some Indian food and then walked to see the ruins. Olivia and Boston went into see the rock carved temple with some volunteers and I went to go sit on the rocks and feed Belle a snack. We walked to the grassy area to find a place to sit and as we walked we passed a little ice cream man who had a little cooler of ice cream cones. After a long day of shopping and walking in the 108 degree heat and 95 percent humidity..an ice cream cone sounded wonderful! We bought our cones and with Belle on my hip we proceeded to walk the the grounds where the rock cave temples were and some nice shade trees. I was looking around for a place to sit and enjoy our cones when I was surprised by a large gray hungry monkey! He was jumping up and down while hanging on my shirt and screaming at me. I screamed back and I am sure I sounded just like the monkey. I said ah ah ah ah right back at him and as I screamed I thought "oh shoot what is he doing, oh no he wants my ice cream, I don't want to give it to him...this is good ice cream...can I take him? Should I kick him? No I better not he probably has diseases and he looks mean!" It is amazing how many thoughts you can have in only five short seconds! I threw my cone, he ran after it and left me and Belle alone wondering what just happened. I am glad we survived another day in India!:)
