So I am finally posting last months events. We celebrated Easter by going to the local village and having an Easter Hunt. My kids hid eggs and then we collected all the village children, we said go and let them run to find the eggs. It was really fun!
I also got to go to another colony called the Mote colony. There are only seven people left in the colony. There use to be thirty or more but the have gradually gotten older and have died. This colony is really a special colony. They are so excited have visitors. They truly are a joy to be around. They tell stories and laugh a lot. Steele and I are going to take the kids back sometime this month. They asked me to bring the kids, they would love to meet them.
We also went to Vikkram and Shama's wedding. It was a christian wedding so it was not to different. It was held in a church. The funny thing is that the preacher that married them was hard to understand but I did catch two things he said. One was "God made Adam and Eve and not Adam and Steve" and "a man will be no happy if he does not marry". He kept saying "no happy"! After the ceremony we went to the downstairs of the chapel and had an Indian dish called chicken Briani. It was very hot that day and the dinner was very very spicy. One of the hottest dishes I have had here in India...well it didn't seem to bother Belle, she was the only one eating it except for Indians of course. The funny thing was that as she was eating she was perspiring like crazy, sweat was coming out of all her pores and dripping down her face as she ate it.
The children have gone for summer break and will be back June first. We have a lot to do to get ready for the volunteers to start arriving May 24th. We are moving into the new part of the school and moving the main offices. Things are going well at Rising Star! Sorry I haven't posted for so long. Time flies here and we get so busy. I will do better!
