We got to ride on an elephant! We were all a little nervous getting on, but once we did it was awesome!! I still had the thought in the back of my mind, "what if this is the ride when the elephant goes mad!!?"..ahhh! But of course nothing happened and it was just relaxing and a lot of fun! Luckily, Belle behaved the whole time..I was a little worried that she would want to get off in the middle of the ride!
On Saturday we went to Mamallapuram, a city south of Chennai near the coast. The city is known for its ancient temples carved from the rocks. When we were there we bought some black hand-carved granite elephants. There were some really good salesmen peddling the carvings..I will be surprised if anyone gets out of there without purchasing one. They are beautiful carvings and will be treasured souvenirs for years to come!
