Happy Pongal!

Pongal is a big holiday here, it is like our Christmas and New Year celebration all rolled into one. They decorate the outside of their houses with a colorful powder (as you can see in this picture with Olivia), they clean out their houses, clean their cows and decorate them with flowers and paint. The parents also save up during the year to buy their children new clothes and then the children walk to their neighbor's homes to collect coins so they can go buy candy (kind of like halloween).

Steele managed to squeeze in a tennis match in Chennai one Saturday night (The Chennai Open) to watch the semi finals with Cole and Boston. The price was right and they had a good time!

Oaks found a baby Gecko that was so cute. It tried to play dead by going stiff and Oaks thought he killed it so he was about to let it go when it suddenly started moving around like normal. Nice defense mechanism!

I miss my bike at home, this will have to do!

Building Forts!

We managed to slip away because of Pongal (everyone had the day off) and went to an awesome beach resort with the kids called Ideal Beach!
